ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the impact of rising fuel prices on tire manufacturers. It is stated that rising gas prices are forcing automobile manufacturers in Detroit, Michigan, to make smaller, fuel-efficient vehicles, due to which tire companies have to respond to the changing consumer preferences. Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co.'s president Rich Kramer says that the market is shifting to high-value-added (HVA) tires with greater rim diameters and high speed ratings.
