Perkins Opening China Facility

The article reports on the plan of Perkins Engines Co. to open in 2009 a plant in Wixu, China that will manufacture its 1100 series of diesel engines. Initial production is estimated to be 60,000 engines annually. The aim of the move, according to managing director Jim Tevebaugh, is to support local Chinese manufacturers and help them realize their export ambitions.
