ABSTRACT
The article presents a political risk assessment of Honduras as of November 2008. The decision of Honduras to join the Venezuelan-led Alternativa Bolivariana de las Américas (ALBA) is said to be a risky strategy for the government. The real gross domestic product (GDP) growth forecast for 2008 has been revised from 5.0-5.5% to 4.1-4.3%. The proposed investment of U.S. real estate company RKI project for the island of Guanaja is expected to boost the overall business environment in Honduras going forward.
