The article focuses on the use of a military machinery to resolve stuck combined crops. Guy Lee from Sandystones Farm, Ancrum in the Scottish Borders, bought a 1955 AEC Militant, a six-wheel-drive bit of military kit, with a 40-ton winch. Originally purchased to move mobile chicken sheds, it has been busy pulling out combines in 2008. He says three tractors and a JCB had failed to move it at all.
