The article reports that Iberdrola has signed 4,000 contracts with irrigation contractors in Spain, said to be a quarter of the total. The power company said it had targeted irrigation customers since the government had cancelled regulated tariffs for the group. According to Iberdrola, companies needed replacement contracts as quickly as possible, as well as advice on electricity purchasing, once the regulated tariff ended on July 1, 2008.
