ABSTRACT
The article presents the prospects for Slovakia's economy from 2008 to 2009. The continued strength of its fiscal dynamics is described citing the latest budget figures. The result of the country's macroeconomic fundamentals are forecasted in terms of an expanding Gross Domestic Product (GDP). The government's stance on future fiscal policy is analyzed with consideration to restraining government spending. Risks to reducing the deficit is seen in light of the upcoming 2010 parliamentary elections.
