ABSTRACT
The article reports on the status of Czech Republic's current account in the light of increasing incoming deficit in 2008. The eurozone slowdown is discussed as it weighs on the external demand for Czech exports. The income deficit is reportedly a reflection of foreign firms engaging in extensive profit repatriation from Czech subsidiaries. The surplus in the financial account is presented along with its capability to cover projected widening shortfall.
