ABSTRACT
The article offers information on the consolidation and merging of companies in the U.S. According to the publication "Metal Center," since 1998, there are about 270 deals that took place in the industry. Mergers include A.M. Castle, Alro, Egen Murray, Esmark, Gibraltar, Macsteel and Metals USA. The author believes that the service center industry is consolidating as it becomes more lean and productive.
