ABSTRACT
The article offers a look at a variety of technologies that can be used to protect forward operating bases and temporary combat outposts. They include the Tactical Automated Security System (Tass) being used by the U.S. Air Force produced by Northrop Grumman. In response to a U.S. Army request for force protection, the first Rapid Aerostat Initial Deployment (Raid) systems were fielded in Afghanistan. INSET: Spotlight Spots Snipers.
