The article reviews sea and land aspects of mobility that drive demands for strategic airlifters and tankers for multi-national operations. With regard to future strategic transports, proposals were invited by the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) for an Efficient Affordable Global-Lift Flight Demonstrator.
