ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the challenges and benefits of remote ordering for eye care practitioners (ECP). The success of remote ordering depends on the long-term relationship between the laboratory and the ECP. Mature software versions of remote ordering can do more than just transfer an order but can interface with any Open Mobile Alliance (OMA) compliant tracer. Also, marketing efforts should be a lifetime commitment by labs to promote remote ordering.
