3M acquires IMTEC

The article reports on a definitive agreement signed by 3M to acquire IMTEC Corp. in 2008. Ardmore, Oklahoma-based IMTEC manufactures dental implants and cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) scanning equipment for dental and medical radiology. Jeffrey Lavers of 3M ESPE cited that a digital total restorative approach will be fostered by the combined digital products and expertise of the firms. He adds that the end-to-end implantology solution of the combined company will benefit dentists.
