ABSTRACT
The article reports on the decision of Caterpillar Inc. and Navistar International Corp. to sign a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to pursue global on-highway truck business opportunities and cooperate on a variety of engine platforms. Through the partnership, Caterpillar is planning to launch a North American Cat-branded heavy-duty truck for severe-service applications in 2010. The companies are looking to develop, manufacture and distribute commercial trucks in select regions outside of North America.
