ABSTRACT
The article reports on the study being conducted by researchers from Wake Forest Institute for Regenerative Medicine in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, which found that a keratin biomaterial gel derived from human hair can stop hemorrhaging in acute liver hemorrhage model. Keratin is a strong protein and a major component in skin, hair, nails, hooves, horns and teeth. Researchers found that keratins increase Schwann cell proliferation, migration and attachment.
