ABSTRACT
The article reports on a panda that gives birth in an earthquake zone in Sichuan, China. It states that Gou Gou, a twelve-year-old panda was the first panda to give birth since the 7.9 magnitude quake that rocked the province on May 12, 2008, killing nearly 70,000 people and leaving five million homeless. Two cubs were born in a 30 minutes interval with male as the eldest, while the sex of the younger cub is still unidentified.
