ABSTRACT
The article reports on the copyright infringement lawsuit filed by a group of publishers against Georgia State University and its library dean Charlene Hurt in Atlanta. Oxford University Press, Cambridge University Press, and SAGE Publications Inc., all supported by the Association of American Publishers (AAP), claimed that the university and its professors have been producing and distributing digital copies of journal articles or chapters from its library's books. It asserted that the distribution and publication processes have both violated the guidelines adopted by the American Library Association.
