August 2008
Farmers Weekly;8/22/2008, p13
Trade Publication
The article reports on the wheat harvest progress in many parts of Europe, as of August 22, 2008. In Great Britain, harvest progress is well behind normal, with ADAS reporting just 3% of wheat cut by the end of last week, though average yields were reported as good at more than 8t/hectare. The French harvest has also been delayed by rain, with little progress over the past week leaving about 30% of the wheat to be cut in some northern regions. Germany's wheat harvest is about 90% complete, but rain is delaying the finish and quality worries are growing.
