The article profiles The Doctors Company Insurance Group, a physician-owned reciprocal in the U.S. The author stated that the company has become a large U.S. medical malpractice insurer through acquisitions. In addition, the doctors' management has stated that the slowing economy can impact the insurer's growth arc in the following year. Moreover, the company plans to pursue an aggressive growth strategy in spite of the short-term prospects.
