ABSTRACT
The article reports on the accomplishments of Gaetano Mannino, the former CEO of Pirelli Tire North America Inc., in the development of clean and green technology for vehicles. It reports on the impact of rise in gasoline prices on the U.S. drivers. Pirelli founded Verdek LLC which offers green products for its clients with an aim to improve transportation. With this aim, Pirelli approached several companies including ZAP Inc. which already produces vehicles that ran solely on electric power.
