Thomasville served as the presenting sponsor of the 2008 annual Pancreatic Cancer Research Walk, with a team of 71 people, which had raised $1 million for the Lustgarten Foundation. Accordingly, $20 million has been provided by Lustgarten Foundation, and an estimated 37,000 people in the United States are expected to benefit a pancreatic cancer diagnosis this 2008.
