The article discusses a political outlook for Poland which is fighting for the continued operations of three shipyards. The European Commission accused three shipyards in the country of receiving illegal funds. It is noted that the ruling Civic Platform (PO) party is unlikely to get affected if the shipyards were to close and cause unemployment for 15,000 individuals. On the other hand, addressing the slow economy has been overshadowed by the construction of infrastructure for the 2012 Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) football championship.
