The article reports that tire recordkeeping will become part of the National Association of Trailer Manufacturers (NATM) certification in 2009, according to Clint Lancaster, NATM compliance consultant. The NATM members will be required to keep records of all new tires placed on motor vehicles prior to the first sale subject to the 49 CFR 574.10 requirements, which include maintaining a record of the new tires on or in all trailers it ships and that this record must provide identification of tire size, brand and batch.
