ABSTRACT
The article reports on the introduction of Double Dutch, a jump-roping game, by New York City schools in their sports roster. School officials hope that adding double Dutch will increase the number of students who participate in school sports. The game is said to require fancy footwork, wherein one or more jumpers hop through two ropes held at ends by teens who twirl them.
