ABSTRACT
The article reports on the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification received by the Desert Living Center inside the Las Vegas Springs Preserve in Nevada from the U.S. Green Building Council. The center is designed by Jeff Roberts and Lance Kirk of Lucchesi Galati Architects. Rammed-earth and straw bale walls, recycled materials and solar panels were used for the center. There are less than 100 buildings worldwide that secured the rating.
