Firms play musical chairs as bankruptcies rise

The article reports on the move of law firms in the city of Las Vegas, Nevada to prepare for an increase in bankruptcy cases as filings rise in the area in 2008. Bruce Beesley, managing partner of Lewis and Roca, said that the bankruptcy filing by Lake Las Vegas on July 15 will create jobs for people. Some law firms are considering to reassign lawyers in lieu of payroll additions. John Steffen, managing partner of Huchison & Steffen, opted to keep the firm's small contingent of bankruptcy attorneys.
