ABSTRACT
The article presents the history of military gaming. Military gaming began 5,000 years ago as warfare models using colored stones and grid systems on a board. It has evolved into state-of-the-art computer-simulation systems that allows users to customize their virtual experience based on real-life events. In the middle of the 17th century, Germany's Christopher Weikmann designed Königspiel or the King's Game.
