ABSTRACT
The article reports on the plan of Charlotte, North Carolina-based Nucor Corp. to install $110 million-worth plate heat-treating facility at its mill in Hertford County, North Carolina. It is noted that the heat-treat line will have an estimated capacity of 120,000 tons. President and chief executive officer Dan DiMicco asserts that the establishment of the heat-treat facility is a crucial step in enabling Nucor Corp.'s plate group to expand its value added product mix.
