ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the success of the steel industry in developing high strength and advanced-high-strength steels in the U.S. As the demand for high-strength steels by automobile manufacturers increases, service centers and processors must adjust to challenges of cutting and slitting. To deal with the concern, McNeilus Steel Inc. has invested in a stretcher leveler. Although Voss Industries Inc. has had issues with slitting high-strength material, it felt comfortable pickling it.
