The article reports that Czech Minister of Transport Aleš ŘbíĀek and his Slovak counterpart Lubomír Vážny has reached an agreement on June 23, 2008 to prepare for the merger of national freight operators CD Cargo and ZSSK Cargo. The Czech Ministry of Transport said the aim is to strengthen the rail operators in the face of ongoing European consolidation.
