ABSTRACT
The article presents views on the benefits of Beijing Olympic Games in China according to sporting industry executives. Highgear president Mike Hosey believes that the Olympics always inspire the consumer at some level. Sportsmans Inc. owner Bob Rogers perceives that the Olympics will give sports a boost over the long run. Nike Inc. sales director Gene Purtell notes that the commercial gain at retail prior and during the Olympics is minimal since it relates to Olympics-specific product.
