ABSTRACT
The article emphasizes the importance for members of rose societies to support rose show even if they do not care about exhibiting roses. It relates the role of rose shows in promoting the idea of growing roses to the general public. Rose shows also allow novice gardeners and veteran rose growers to view the roses that they might want to grow. Rose shows also serve as the venue where the public can receive advice about growing roses. It outlines the characteristics of a good show rose.
