ABSTRACT
The article offers information on the Sovereign Nations Scholarship Fund being launched by the American Indian College Fund. The Sovereign Nations Scholarship Fund is a permanent $10 million endowment that will assist Native college students from tribes across the country in achieving their higher-education goals. One of its biggest donors is the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community, which in 2001 has donated a total of $900,000 over a three-year period. Other contributors include the Ho Chunk Nation of Wisconsin, and the Cow Creek Band of Umpqua Tribe of Indians of Oregon.
