ABSTRACT
The article discusses the campaign to sell nuclear powers. In 2006, Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI) has launched a multimillion dollar campaign to advocate the U.S. public to support for nuclear energy broadly and specifically for the Yucca Mountain project in Nevada. NEI has put an effort to rebrand nuclear powers as a clean, efficient, and safe electricity source. Their slogan "Nuclear: Clean Air Energy" is often accompanied with pictures of playful children and happy families and has appeared in all mediums of communication. Despite the success of changing its public image, the author argues that the national energy policy should be determined by independently verified facts, tight analysis, and deliberate comparisons.
