ABSTRACT
The article reports on the growing number of avionics companies offering synthetic vision. Avidyne Corp. plans to show synthetic vision on its Entegra line of integrated cockpit systems while L-3 Avionics will be showing its new SmartDeck integrated system at the AirVenture 2008 in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Other companies already offering or developing synthetic vision include Chelton Inc., a Cobham subsidiary that pioneered synthetic vision for general aviation, and Collins, which is developing it for its Pro Line Fusion cockpits.
