ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the importance of enterprise risk management (ERM) strategy for the long-term financial liabilities of hospitals in the U.S. It notes that an effective ERM shows strong management and good governance, and can help in relationships with foundations and donors. Moreover, the said strategy can provide a logical, disciplined framework for addressing risk across the hospital by accepting that risk exists. Still, the key to a successful risk management program is having the proper tools to asses associated risks.
