The article reports on the financial performance of airline Allegiant Air in Las Vegas, Nevada, in the second quarter of 2008. The airline reported a 48 percent increase in revenues to $132 million, which was enough to help it outrun a 40 percent increase in fuel prices during the last six months of 2008. According to a survey, the airline's earnings per share declined by almost 75 percent for the quarter to 13 cents, which was 1 cent less than Wall Street analysts anticipated.
