ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the community recreation center that was the focus of the 2008 design competition of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) in the U.S. It states that the competition featured architectural design as well as selection design of heating and ventilation systems for the said community recreation center. ASHRAE has chosen the winners according to different categories which include the heating and ventilation industry (HVAC) system selection category, HVAC system design category, architectural design category. Awards will be presented at ASHRAE's 2009 Winter Meeting on January 24-28, 2009 and winning student groups will have a poster presentation to display their projects.
