ABSTRACT
The article reports on the implications of the proposed low-carbon economy initiative of the British government. According to the author, the realization of the proposal is welcomed by manufacturers because of the opportunities it offer which lessen the country's dependence of oil and gas as well as carbon emissions. Business secretary John Hutton stressed that the proposal aims to integrate 15% renewable energy necessary for energy efficiency as well as addressing climate change and wastes.
