ABSTRACT
The article announces that furniture factory orders in May 2008 in the U.S. were down 6% from the same month in 2007, while shipments dropped 10%. According to Smith Leonard's monthly factory poll, 67% of the respondents reported that their orders were down for the month, a little better than the 71% reporting drops in April 2008. Some companies cited double-digit gains and others reports drops just as big.
