ABSTRACT
The article discusses the implications of the changes in the pensions simplification legislation, the Employment Equality (Age) Regulations and the Welfare Reform Act 2007 for employers and employees in Great Britain. These changes will result in claimants for the new employment and support allowance (ESA) to undergo an assessment period of up to 13 weeks after 28 weeks to receiving statutory sick pay.
