ABSTRACT
The article reports on the financial results released by Bharat Petroleum Corp. Ltd. (BPCL) for the fiscal year 2008. During the fourth quarter of the year, the company posted a 91 percent decline in net profit or to Rupees (Rs) 58.4 crore from the previous quarter of Rs 670 crore due to high crude oil prices. BPCL reported a gross refining margin of $4.60 a barrel and $7.18 a barrel for its Mumbai and Kochi Refineries, respectively.
