ABSTRACT
The article focuses on a memorandum of understanding entered into by the Indian Department of Science and Technology (DST) with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) to establish a research platform in 2008. According to DST Secretary T. Ramasami, the platform is aimed at identifying areas of research to analyse the strengths of the partner nations and study possibilities of collaboration with them. It is noted that the deal will provide the much-needed public-private participation in the field of research.
