Facebook-style intranet engages phone firm's staff

The article reports that French mobile phone company SFR is using social networking to boost staff engagement. An online social networking resource on the firm's intranet, which includes blogs and discussion forums, allows employees to share information about their skills and experience, career goals and personal interests. Stéphane Roussel, SFR's HR director, said that the tool had been introduced to adapt to the needs of generations for whom social networks such as Facebook and MySpace were the norm.
