The article presents responses of several people from the sports goods industry regarding a question on effect of vendor-owned stores on sporting goods retail trade. According to Hank Cohan of Hudson Trail Outfitters Ltd., the greed of vendors and lack of vision is damaging the retail channel of distribution. The chief operating officer (COO) of Efinger Sporting Goods Murray Greenberg said that vendor-owned outlet stores are affecting retail sales of established and chain sporting goods stores.
