ABSTRACT
The article reports on the regulatory reform of Timothy Geithner, president and chief executive officer (CEO) of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. Giethner states that the current system of the nation has evolved into a confusing mix of diffused accountability, regulatory competition, and a complex web of rules. Moreover, he said that the central objective in reforming the regulatory framework is to lessen the fragility of the system and to reduce the need for official intervention.
