The article profiles Sokhom and Bun Sun You, Khmer dancers and singers in Bismark, North Dakota. Sokhom learned to dance at the age of sixteen from his teachers, Maly Mao and Chamreoun Phong. He held many performances in his hometown before the Khmer Rouge took it over. Meanwhile, Bun grew up on a rice farm in the town of Seam Reap where she learned the traditional song she heard others in the village sing.
