ABSTRACT
The article reports on the rise of the world crude steel production for the 66 countries as reported to the International Iron and Steel Institute. It reports that it increases to 5.8 percent compared from May 2007. On the other hand, the U.S. production saw only slight growth. It mentions that the Mexican production up by 16.5 percent and Canadian production rose up by 6.1 percent. Furthermore, North American steel production for the five months of 2008 were increased.
