ABSTRACT
The article examines the performance of the commercial real estate market in Southern Nevada in the first quarter of 2008. Based on a report by Colliers International Las Vegas, the office market in Southern Nevada had a 13.4 percent first-quarter office vacancy rate, which is 2.5 percent more than in 2007. The industrial market remained steady in the first quarter, recording a 6.1 vacancy rate, as average asking rents reached an all-time high at 80 cents per square foot according to CB Richard Ellis.
