ABSTRACT
The article presents an update on the economic condition of Nevada as of June 2008. The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority reported a 1.5 percent decline of visitors, as average hotel occupancies dropped by 90 percent in April. The Clark County housing construction permits for residential properties totaled 1,141 in May according to the Center for Business and Economics Research, which represents a 35.6 percent year-over-year decline. A total of 987 new foreclosures were reported by Southern Nevada in May.
