ABSTRACT
The article discusses Chinese, Indian, and American interests in the Indian Ocean. While an ally of the U.S. in the region, India seems unlikely to cooperate with the U.S. in any effort to contain China. China at present evinces little concern about Indian naval power, although that could change if India were to significantly enhance its fleet.
